VALERIIA USTIUHOVA
ARTICLING STUDENT (REQUALIFYING NCA LAWYER)
Valeriia moved to Canada from Ukraine, where she completed her legal studies. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, and a master’s degree from the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy. In Ukraine, she practised law for over 3 years, representing the Government of Ukraine in international investment arbitration, and handling complex financial and cross-border criminal cases.
In Canada, Valeriia earned her master’s in Canadian Common Law from the Peter A. Allard School of Law. During her studies, she was actively involved with the UBC Legal Aid Clinic and earned recognition as a top clinician. Valeriia passed the bar exam in August 2024 and is on track for bar admission in May 2025.
Beyond her professional life, Valeriia claims to be a pickleball player, tireless hiker, and promising gardener.
