Candace Cates graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Arts (Political Science) in 1978 and Bachelor of Law in 1983. After completing her articles at a firm in Kamloops, she was called to the Bar in 1984. Candace worked with the Kamloops law firm of Mair Jensen Blair for the first few years of her practice and then joined the Vancouver law firm now known as Boughton Law. Candace moved back to Kamloops in 1991 to join Jensen Mitchell Carroll and became a partner in 1997. The firm evolved to Cates Carroll Watt, has since merged with the well-established firms of Taylor Epp & Dolder and Soll & Company, and evolved to what it is today, Cates Ford Soll & Epp LLP.

Candace has extensive experience in many areas of law, thus enabling her to provide her clients with a wealth of knowledge, practice, and understanding.
