ALI KOTHAWALA
ARTICLING STUDENT (REQUALIFYING NCA LAWYER)

Abdeali, originally from Mumbai, India, earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Law from the University of Mumbai. During his studies, he worked for three years in the chambers of a Criminal Defense Attorney. After graduating in 2021, he continued practicing Criminal Law.

In 2022, Abdeali expanded his practice to include Family Law, gaining significant experience in both areas. He also took on independent cases and provided pro bono legal aid, focusing on undertrial prisoners, victims of domestic violence, and child custody matters. His work in India sharpened his advocacy skills and equipped him to handle a broad range of legal disputes, whether in Criminal or Family Law.

In 2023, Abdeali moved to Canada to pursue a Master’s degree in Canadian Common Law at the University of British Columbia. While at UBC, he volunteered with the Law Students' Legal Advice Program, offering legal assistance in various cases.
